As a small boy, Erich spent much time playing in the family vineyards. There he learned much about how nature grows, builds and evolves. The experience left a great impression on him, which eventually led him to train at the School of Winemaking in Krems, Austria and at the University of Agriculture in Vienna. In 2000, Erich took over the fourth generation family winery and developed it further by combining his deepened knowledge in wine making with the family's experience in vineyard cultivation. Today he is supported with knowledge and passion by Vanessa Knirsch. The previous generation of the winery, Regina and Josef Sattler, are still very active in the vineyards and wine making. Most of the production of the winery goes to export markets like Germany, Switzerland or the United States and the wines can be found in the selected restaurants in Berlin, Zurich and New York.
